Sorgu is a rocky, 5-hectare island off the coast of Estonia, protected for its population of waterbirds – especially cormorants. The island is uninhabited and surrounded by wild nature, with many rose hips and berries. On the northern side stands an architecturally distinctive red brick lighthouse, resembling a water tower from the Tsarist era. Nearby are preserved buildings from the early 20th century, including the keeper’s house and utility structures. The island can be explored on foot in 1–2 hours, but due to the rocky shores, visiting with a guide is recommended. Sorgu Island and its lighthouse are ideal for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and cultural heritage enthusiasts.
