St. Elizabeth’s Church in Lihula is an important sacred monument in Western Estonia. The current church was built in 1876 when the old one, dating back to the 13th century, became unfit for use.
Inside the church, visitors can admire Baroque sculptures, an ancient altarpiece, and a historic bell brought from the earlier sanctuary. The altar, pulpit, and benches were crafted by local artisan Laurberg, and the organ was made by renowned master C. A. Tanton. This church is a great destination for cultural and history enthusiasts exploring Estonia’s sacred heritage.
