The Tahkuranna Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God, built in 1872, is one of the most unique Orthodox churches in Estonia – constructed entirely of red bricks without the typical use of natural stone. It also holds historical significance, as Estonia’s first president, Konstantin Päts, was baptized here.
