Located in the center of Vepriai, the sculpture “Geldutė” (by sculptor V. Žentelis, 1979) commemorates a local legend about Princess Geldutė, who was cursed by jealous fairies and chained to the bottom of a lake. At midnight, she rises and plays the kanklės (a traditional Lithuanian string instrument).
The sculpture stands as a symbol of Vepriai’s mystical stories and invites visitors to explore local legends and cultural heritage.
