The Viršužiglis St. Anne's Chapel, located near Kaunas, is an important cultural and religious site belonging to the Šlienava Parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary's Visitation. The chapel was built between 1990 and 1995 with funds from the village community and has become not only a religious center but also an interesting tourist attraction, drawing visitors from all over Lithuania. Sunday Masses are held here, offering both locals and tourists the opportunity to connect with the history and spiritual life of the sanctuary. Designed by architect Liucijus Albertas Dringelis, the chapel follows folk architecture traditions and blends harmoniously with the surrounding environment. The building
features a unique design, with a graceful tower and various façade elements. The main façade faces west, while the side faces the road. The chapel has a cruciform plan, with protruding sacristies and a three-sided apse, characteristic of pseudobasilical architecture. Inside, simple yet elegant details dominate, including wooden columns and a stylized altar. The Viršužiglis St. Anne's Chapel is an excellent example of how to restore and preserve religious traditions while staying true to local architecture and cultural heritage. It is one of those religious and historical sites in Lithuania that attracts both pilgrims and tourists wishing to explore Lithuania's ecclesiastical heritage.
