The Pakretuonė Water Mill, a historic structure built in 1850, was once part of the Pervieniškės Manor in the Švenčionys district. This unique building, constructed from round logs and covered with a gabled roof, is a one-story structure oriented opposite the river. Juozas Baranauskas, the last miller from the village of Ožkiniai, managed the mill until the mid-20th century when it became unprofitable due to the decline in farming activities in the surrounding areas.

Thanks to the initiative of the staff of the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania, the mill was saved from demolition. In 1968, after
the building was handed over to the library, it was restored and began to be used as a training base, "Pakretuonė Water Mill," where various professional events are organized, including "LiLaEst" seminars, which brought together specialists from the national libraries of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. A significant fire in the autumn of 2018 caused extensive damage to the mill, but the building was rebuilt, and construction work was completed in the summer of 2021. Now, the Pakretuonė Mill remains an important training and seminar center for the National Library, attracting participants from various countries.
