The Monument to the Decade of Lithuanian Independence in Joniškis, erected in 1928 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the restoration of independence, is an important historical site. The unveiling ceremony of the monument was attended by the President of Lithuania, Antanas Smetona. After World War II, the monument was demolished, but in 1989, with the beginning of the Lithuanian Reform Movement, it was rebuilt with funds from the residents of Joniškis. Today, the monument stands in the same form as it did during the interwar period, symbolizing Lithuania's struggle for independence.
