The castle is renowned for its unique architecture and stories of visits by
Grand Duke Vytautas of Lithuania, as well as the life of the Tatar community in the nearby Pilkapiai village. Although the castle's significance declined over time, the restoration of Lithuanian statehood marked a new chapter in its history, including reconstruction efforts and the opening of an exhibition branch of the Trakai History Museum. Visitors are invited to explore various exhibitions dedicated to Lithuanian defensive architecture, the history of weaponry, and silversmithing, as well as to enjoy the unparalleled panoramic views of the surroundings from the observation deck of the keep.
