Approximately 1.5 km northwest of the Pajevonys Hillfort stands the Juodkalnis (Aspertavas) Hillfort, also known as the Ragaišiai Hillfort. This site is steeped in legends, one of which tells of a stone with inscriptions once located on Juodkalnis and church bells that, according to folklore, sank here and can still be heard ringing.
Juodkalnis was also known as the Watch Hillfort, from which locals would gather at Pilies Hill in times of danger. Stories claim that the hillforts were connected by underground tunnels linking Juodkalnis to Žinyčia and Pilies Hills.
