The Salantai Parish Cemetery, established at the end of the 18th century, stands out with its rich history and the presence of many prominent individuals. In 1824, the landowner Leopold Gorski built the brick St. Barbara Chapel, replacing the earlier wooden one. The cemetery is the final resting place of priests, book carrier Aleksandras Bendikas, founder of the Salantai Riflemen’s Corps Jurgis Bučmys, folk craftsman Petras Kalenda, Righteous Among the Nations Zofija and Pranas Kasperaičiai, and many other notable figures. One of the most remarkable features is the tombstone monument made from a meteorite, marking the grave of Juozas Paulauskas.

These historical cemeteries are not only a place of peace but also a cultural heritage site, preserving the history of the Salantai community.

The Salantai Parish Cemetery, established in the late 18th century, remains an important part of the town's history. During the Soviet era, it became a civil cemetery, serving not only as a final resting place but also as a pantheon for unique historical personalities. Its highlight is the brick St. Barbara Chapel, built in 1824 by landowner Leopold Gorski, replacing the former wooden chapel. The cemetery is the final resting place of priests such as Kazimieras Bielskis and Vincentas Kaušas, as well as book carrier Aleksandras Bendikas, known for publishing Lithuanian calendars. Corps, folk artist Petras Kalenda, who created the Palanga Juze sculpture, and the stone carvers Jonas, Kazys, and Vilius Orvidai. Among other distinguished individuals are the Righteous Among the Nations Zofija and Pranas Kasperaičiai, partisan Uršulė Riepšienė-Kazbaraitienė, and collector Aleksas Gapanavičius. One of the most striking features of the cemetery is the tombstone monument made from a meteorite, marking the grave of Juozas Paulauskas. The cemetery not only speaks of the history of the Salantai community but also serves as an important part of the cultural heritage, representing the past of the Samogitia region.
