Built in 1801 in the classical style, Rokiškis Manor is one of Lithuania's most prominent historical landmarks. In 1905, the building was renovated and enhanced with baroque elements under the designs of architects K. Jankovskis and P. Lilpop. Today, the manor houses the Rokiškis Regional Museum, which has amassed a collection of over 100,000 exhibits over decades of operation. The museum’s collections feature regional history, archaeology, fine art, and numismatics, with a special emphasis on the works of renowned woodcarver Lionginas Šepka. Visitors can explore Lithuania’s only nativity scene (Bethlehem) exhibition, featuring over 100 sculptures. The museum also hosts exhibitions, art plein airs, classical music concerts, literary
evenings, and educational activities catering to visitors of all ages. In 2011, Rokiškis Manor was honored with the prestigious EDEN award for its exceptional efforts in preserving history, culture, and educational initiatives. The manor ensemble includes 14 authentic buildings and a 28-hectare park with ponds, creating a unique atmosphere for both cultural and exploratory activities. The museum continually enhances its exhibits and places significant focus on education, offering hands-on activities for children and opportunities for adults to deepen their historical knowledge. Rokiškis Manor is not just a treasure trove of cultural heritage but also a vibrant space for art and history, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
