In 2023, the wooden sculpture park in Anykščiai Forest achieved a world record with the unveiling of the "Eglė, Queen of Serpents" sculpture. Standing at an impressive height of 25.11 meters, this oak masterpiece was created by artist Valerijus Kunigel, technical engineer Virginijus Tarulis, and Deividas Tarulis, who conceived the idea and led the project. It has been officially recognized as the tallest wooden sculpture in the world.
The sculpture was assembled from eight separate sections using only wooden pegs and glue, without any metal or alternative materials. The entire
process was meticulously documented according to Guinness World Records guidelines, including filming, photography, and independent witness verification to ensure compliance. A professional surveyor precisely measured the sculpture's height.
According to D. Tarulis, the project not only showcased the creators' exceptional craftsmanship but also provided valuable knowledge and experience. The "Eglė, Queen of Serpents" sculpture embodies Lithuanian mythology and technical excellence, becoming a distinctive highlight of Anykščiai Forest and a globally recognized achievement.
