This impressive artwork, created by a group of artists, symbolizes Lithuanians’ deep appreciation for the potato, often referred to as the “second bread.” The sculpture was transported to Ilzenberg Manor in pieces and assembled in the manor’s parking area.
The metal structure is coated with fiberglass and painted to make the potato appear remarkably lifelike. Nearby, visitors can find information about the history of the potato, its benefits, and the challenges it faces. The Ilzenberg potato is not just a whimsical attraction but also an educational space, inviting visitors to explore Lithuanian gastronomic culture.
