Lukštai Spring is a unique natural and cultural site located in Utena district. The spring emerges in a picturesque hollow from three points, forming a swift stream that flows into the Šaltuoja River, a tributary of the Vyžuona. The area around the spring is well-maintained, with stone steps, a table, and a retaining wall reinforcing the slope, making it an attractive spot for visitors.
The spring is known as the site of the Old Believers' festival, Petrinės (Petrovka), which continues to take place annually on July 12. Before World War II, the site attracted pilgrims from Lithuania and Latvia, with the meadow on the southern side of the spring serving as the festival’s main gathering area. The water was believed to have special properties and was used for washing and drinking during the celebrations. The name "Lukštai" is linked to these traditions, as legend has it that people gathered here and threw eggshells (lukštai) after the festivities.
