Agluonėnai Park, renowned for its luxurious oak grove, is one of the most popular tourist destinations, preserving the heritage of both Lithuania and Lithuania Minor. At the heart of the park stands the Lietuvininkai Oak Grove, which is not only a natural monument but also a historical one, commemorating the most prominent figures of Lithuania Minor – poets, scholars, and cultural figures. An impressive monument, created by J. Čepas and artists from the Klaipėda region, stands here, adorned with an arch and cross-shaped oak leaf sculptures. These elements symbolize
the memory and legacy of Lithuania Minor's residents, the Lietuvininkai, including such notable figures as K. Donelaitis, M. Mažvydas, L. Rėza, Vydūnas, I. Simonaitytė, and the great-grandfather of I. Kant, R. Kant. A visit to Agluonėnai Park is a must for cultural heritage and Lithuanian history enthusiasts, offering a deep dive into the past of the country and its regions. The Lietuvininkai Oak Grove provides not only a visual feast with its natural beauty but also nourishment for the soul with its deep historical roots and cultural reflections.
