Partisan Bunker and Memorial Cross in Plunksnočiai Forest

Plunksnočiai Forest, located between Juodupė and Žiobiškis, was a crucial site of partisan resistance during the post-war years. This site is notable because the bunker constructed here was used until 1956, making it one of the longest-operating bunkers in Lithuania. Today, Plunksnočiai Forest has undergone significant changes—it has become dry and easily accessible, with foresters having developed paths and footbridges leading to the bunker. This area is not only a site of historical heritage but also an interesting destination for tourism enthusiasts looking to explore the struggles of Lithuanian partisans.
