The memorial stone for Vladas Mironas, a signatory of the Act of February 16, stands in his birthplace in Kuodiškiai village, Pandėlis eldership. This prominent figure in Lithuanian history (1880–1953) was a priest, founder of Lithuanian primary schools in the Vilnius region, founder and chairman of the National Progress Party, a member of the 3rd Seimas, Chief Chaplain of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister.
V. Mironas also served as Vice-Chairman of the Lithuanian Council and was a member of the Lithuanian Science Society. During the Soviet occupation, he was arrested three times and sentenced in 1947. He died in 1953 in Vladimir Prison, Russia, where he was buried. The monument in his birthplace has become an important cultural tourism site, commemorating the nation’s struggle for independence.
