Labūnava village, located in Pelėdnagiai eldership, is 8 km southeast of Kėdainiai, near the Barupė stream, a tributary of the Nevėžis River. Labūnava has been known since 1364, when it was mentioned in the chronicles of the Teutonic Knights. In the 16th century, Labūnava Manor began to take shape, and in the 19th century, it belonged to the noble Zabiela family. On the manor grounds, there are two masonry towers with walls one meter thick and up to six meters high masonry, which contained three-story rooms. One of the towers, where 11 partisans and their family members died during a clash on December 25, 1946, now stands as a testament to the partisans' resistance and tragedy.
