In 1812, a chapel was built in the village of Gudžiūnai, which was not used regularly for Mass but hosted major festivals during Pentecost, attracting many believers. Later, between 1910 and 1911, a Gothic-style wooden Sacred Heart of Jesus chapel was erected based on the design of architect Kačkovskis and funded by Count A. Chrapovickis. This chapel became an important religious and architectural site, attracting visitors not only for its historical significance but also for its unique construction style.
