The Paberžė village, located at the confluence of the Liaudė and Nykys streams, lies 32 km from Kėdainiai. This area is home to the historic Paberžė Manor, believed to have been built in 1793 by Baron Stanislovas Šilingas of German descent. The baron, who actively participated in the 1863 uprising, was exiled to Siberia, and the manor was taken over by Tsarist official I. Tichejev. The manor house, which retains its original architectural appearance, has undergone numerous renovations. In 1993, a museum dedicated to the 1863 uprising was opened here, focusing on the activities and legacy of the uprising's leader, priest Antanas Mackevičius. The museum showcases a rich collection of personal items, documents, and artistic works related to the uprising.
