Archaeological excavations in 1998 revealed that this 14th-century hillfort retained remnants of a 13 cm thick charred wooden defensive wall. The structure was made of horizontally placed logs supported by vertically driven stakes, with the interior filled with soil for added stability. The excavation also uncovered various iron artifacts, including a scythe, two hoes, a buckle, a chain, and a knife, as well as fragments of bronze jewelry. Historical sources indicate that in August 1372, this site in Šukioniai village was raided and devastated by the Livonian Order's army.
