Plinkaigalis Hillfort, located on a highland by the Šušvė River, is a significant historical site. About 300 meters southeast lies a settlement where pottery and a stone grinder were found. To the southwest, 400 meters from the hillfort, a 3rd–7th-century cemetery was excavated between 1977 and 1984, revealing 325 graves, including horse burials. A notable discovery was a ceremonial aurochs horn with silver and bronze fittings, featuring Scandinavian motifs, measuring about 40–45 cm and holding 1.6 liters. This rare find, significant in Lithuania and Eastern Europe, was likely brought through trade or made locally with Scandinavian influence.
