On the slope of the Dubysa Valley in Ariogala stands a monument to Grand Duke Vytenis of Lithuania – one of the most important figures of the Middle Ages. Erected at the intersection of Maironis and Vytenis streets, this work by sculptor Raimundas Dzimidavičius marks Vytenis’s origin from this region. He ruled the Grand Duchy of Lithuania from 1295 to 1316, defended Samogitia, successfully fought against the Teutonic Knights, expanded the state's borders, and strengthened trade relations with Riga. This is a unique place of interest for those traveling around Lithuania and interested in historical heritage.
