Vincas Svirskis, a renowned Lithuanian woodcarver, rests in the old Surviliškis cemetery, in the family grave of the Mataičiai. Modern benefactors, including the family of former Governor of the Bank of Lithuania Romualdas Visokavičius, who has familial ties to the artist, have commemorated V. Svirskis by restoring the gravesite. The grave is adorned with a cross created by Svirskis, with the original displayed at the Kėdainiai Regional Museum. A phrase is inscribed on the bronze plaque of the monument: “...let this be my monument as well.”
