Memorial Plaque for Writer Sigitas Geda

Sigitas Geda (1943–2008), a poet, playwright, critic, and essayist born in Pateriai, Lazdijai district, is one of the most prominent figures in Lithuanian literature. In 2001, he became the first honorary citizen of Lazdijai district, a title awarded to him by the Lazdijai District Municipality.
In honor of his memory, in 2022, a project titled "The Literary Path of Lazdijai Region" was implemented by the Lazdijai Public Library. As part of this project, a memorial plaque was installed for the writer, created by sculptor Algis Kasparavičius.
