In the town of Lazdijai, the "Tree of Songs" sculpture was ceremoniously unveiled to commemorate the centenary of the Song Festival. This artwork symbolizes the nation’s cultural heritage and the musical tradition passed down through generations, depicted as a stylized hazel tree with blossoms. Funded by honorary citizens of Lazdijai district, Danutė and Petras Jurkevičius, the sculpture was unveiled in the courtyard of the Lazdijai Cultural Center. The ceremony was blessed by the Dean of Lazdijai Deanery, Nerijus Žvirblys, and Mayor Ausma Miškinienė highlighted the importance of prioritizing culture within the community. Embodying Lazdijai’s long-standing cultural history, the sculpture stands as a significant marker of the region’s commitment to cultural preservation. The concept of the sculpture was created by Lazdijai Cultural Center director Arūnas Sujeta and graphic designer Ieva Vaivaraitė-Ošikienė.
