Apuolė Cemetery, located in Skuodas district, is a cultural monument of national significance. The cemetery was declared an archaeological monument in 1972 and was included in the Lithuanian Cultural Heritage Register in 1992. Excavations have revealed 21 cremation graves, bronze artifacts, ceramics, and iron tools, with findings preserved in museums in Lithuania and abroad. The cemetery is a unique archaeological site, though it has suffered damage from illegal excavations.

Apuolė Cemetery, with the unique code 3235, is a valuable archaeological monument located in the central part of Skuodas district, in Aleksandrija elderate, just 0.2 km northwest of Apuolė Hillfort. This cultural site covers 2.4 hectares and dates from the 2nd to the 13th centuries. It was recognized as a national monument in 1972 and included in the Register of Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Lithuania in 1992. Since then, the cemetery has become an important archaeological source, with 21 cremation graves, bronze neck rings, bracelets, horseshoe-shaped brooches, iron knives, and sword fragments

found here. These artifacts are now displayed at the Vytautas the Great War Museum, the Stockholm History Museum, and the National Museum of Lithuania. Due to illegal excavations that began in 2009, the cemetery has been significantly damaged. The burial grounds in this area are surrounded by a stone wall, and parts of the old cemetery were further impacted by gravel pit digging. Despite this, this unique cultural heritage site retains its historical value and appeal, inviting tourists and researchers to explore medieval traditions and archaeological finds that provide insight into life in the past.
