Apuolė Cemetery, located in Skuodas district, is a cultural monument of national significance. Dating from the 2nd to the 13th centuries, it covers an area of 2.4 hectares and is situated 0.2 km from Apuolė Hillfort on the right bank of the Luoba River. The cemetery was declared an archaeological monument in 1972 and was included in the Lithuanian Cultural Heritage Register in 1992. Excavations have revealed 21 cremation graves, bronze artifacts, ceramics, and iron tools, with findings preserved in museums in Lithuania and abroad. The cemetery is a unique archaeological site, though it has suffered damage from illegal excavations.
