In this historic site rest two members of the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union's IX Battalion, who contributed to defending the country's independence. Private Petras Mockevičius, who fell on July 14, 1922, during an attack by the Polish army in Šventijansko village, and Sergeant Petras Vitkauskas, who was killed on March 20, 1922, during a battle with Polish soldiers near Alksnėnai village, symbolize heroism and sacrifice. This site is significant not only historically but also culturally, inviting visitors to learn about Lithuania's struggles for independence.
