The construction of this church began in 1895 at the initiative of Father Liudvikas Adomaitis and was funded by the parishioners. Designed by Feliksas Lipskis, it was consecrated by the Bishop of Sejny, Antanas Baranauskas, the author of the poem "Anykščių šilelis." The church was dedicated to St. Anne, and inside, it features an organ crafted by the renowned Lithuanian master Jonas Garalevičius.
