The Black or Love Stone in Žibikai

This stone, known as the Love Stone, is steeped in legends dating back to the Stone Age when it is believed religious ceremonies and rituals were held here. One such legend tells of a tragic love story from 1930, when a common young man fell in love with a wealthy farmer's daughter. Their love was doomed due to social class differences, and in their desire to remain together forever, the young lovers chose death. Their last meeting and tragic death occurred at this stone, where the young man, after setting fire to his beloved's parents' house, shot his lover and then himself. This site continues to attract visitors with its mysterious history and legends.
