Kirdeikiai is a cozy town located on the southwestern shore of Lake Pakasas, in the Saldutiškis municipality, and serves as the center of the elderate. This place is distinguished not only by its beautiful natural landscapes but also by its unique layout—the western border of the Aukštaitija National Park divides the town into two parts: one that falls within the state-protected natural heritage and another that is unprotected. Historical sources first mention Kirdeikiai in 1554 in the inventory documents of the Linkmenai manor. To commemorate the 450th anniversary of Kirdeikiai's mention, a memorial stone was erected on the main street of the town.
