Jurgis Bielinis was a famous Lithuanian book smuggler, publicist, and an active contributor to the "Aušra" and "Varpas" publications. He used pseudonyms such as Juozapas Baltasis Erelis, J. B. Erelis, Jurgis, and Juozapas Baltasai in his work. Born in Purviškiai, Nemunėlis Radviliškis Parish, his birthplace still features a homestead with a chapel shrine created by Leonas Juozonis. Nearby, an oak tree named "Bielinis' Oak," under which he once hid from the tsarist gendarmes, still stands, along with a stone bearing a dedication.
In Pasvalys, the "Dūdoriai" club preserves the cross under which Jurgis Bielinis passed away. In Suostas, within the churchyard, lies his grave marked with a tombstone. In 1931, a monument made from fieldstones was erected here, built by members of the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union, the Pavasarininkai, scouts, and nationalists, with the work carried out by blacksmith J. Korsakas.
