On June 3, 1912, the first Pentecostal church in Lithuania was registered in Biržai. This historic church was founded by Petras Viederis, who returned from America, and it became the first officially registered Pentecostal church in the entire former Russian Empire. The term "Pentecostal" is associated with the Day of Pentecost, during which, according to the Holy Scriptures, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit occurred, as described in Acts 2. This is a significant religious event that underscores the foundations of the faith and spiritual experience of this Christian community. The Biržai Pentecostal church remains an important spiritual center, attracting both believers and visitors.
