The Chapel of St. Helena, built in Deikiškiai in 1716, was reconstructed in 1736. This wooden chapel is generally opened for the Feast of St. Helena and the Guardian Angels as well as for funeral ceremonies when people from this region are laid to rest. Belonging to the Vabalninkas Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the chapel is included in the popular tourist route "Wooden Churches and Chapels of the Biržai Region."
Nearby, in the Deikiškiai cemetery, is the grave of Emilija Kvedaraitė-Mykolaitienė, the wife of the writer Vincas Mykolaitis-Putinas. At the main path to the chapel stands a wooden cross adorned with ornaments and a small shrine. In 2003, following the establishment of the Gaižiūnai village community, a renovation of the chapel was organized to restore this valuable cultural heritage site.
