The Lamokėliai Chapel belongs to the Vabalninkas Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and is included in the popular tourist route "Wooden Churches and Chapels of the Biržai Region." According to legend, early one morning, as a girl walked along a country road, she saw a rider on a white horse on a hill. It is believed that this was St. George, who indicated the place where the chapel should be built. The parishioners constructed a chapel at that location, naming it after St. George. Since then, St. George's Day services have been celebrated, and in the fall, the Feast of St. Francis is held.
