Imagine standing in the 1970s before a 162-meter high hill, which was later excavated for gravel extraction. However, since 2003, following the initiative of the Žemaitija National Park, this site is no longer exploited, as the Lithuanian Government recognized its significant recreational value. Now, where the hill once stood, a captivating 2-hectare water reservoir sits at an elevation of 140 meters above sea level, offering visitors a unique natural oasis.
