In 1993, during archaeological research at Čeberakai Hillfort, fragments of corded ware pottery were found, indicating that this hillfort was inhabited as early as the beginning of our era. Many legends surround Čeberakai Hillfort. One of them tells that in ancient times, a church stood at this site, which sank into the ground during a Mass. Due to this event, local residents still refer to the hillfort as "Bažnyčiakalnis," meaning "Church Hill." It is also believed that in the early 20th century, there were stone steps leading to the hillfort, and locals still remember their traces today.
