Near the serene Kupiškis Reservoir (Lėvens Reservoir), in the tradition-preserving village of Laukminiškiai, a museum has been operating since December 24, 2002. This museum is housed in the parental home of writer Petras Babickas and actress Unė Babickaitė. The building was restored thanks to the efforts of local residents Gediminas Kaluina, Algimantas Zoluba, and former long-time chairman of the Virbališkiai collective farm, Bronius Inapas. In 1992, a memorial plaque was affixed to the house to commemorate actress Unė Babickaitė and writer and journalist Petras Babickas.

The Laukminiškiai Village Museum was established by Janina Puronienė and Kristina Aleksandravičienė, primary school teachers at the Virbališkiai Primary School in the Kupiškis district, with the help of their students. They created an ethnographic exhibit reflecting the daily life, customs, and traditions of the surrounding village residents at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Visitors to the museum can learn about the lives and works of Unė and Petras Babickas through a modest exhibit dedicated to their memory. These homes were the birthplace not only of Petras and his sister Unė, but also of their brothers – Colonel Kazys of the Lithuanian Army and Vytautas, who studied military science and worked as a teacher. All members of the Babickas family have passed away. The ancestral home of actress Unė Babickaitė and publicist Petras Babickas was added to the Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage in 2009.
