Stirniškiai Hillfort is a historic archaeological site formed at the confluence of the Lėvuo and Pilpys rivers during the 1st millennium and the beginning of the 2nd millennium. This hillfort stands out for its strategic location and rich historical background. To the east-southeast and north of the hillfort lies a settlement where archaeologists discovered remnants of smooth and rough pottery, indicating ancient habitation in the area.
Located 300 meters northwest of the hillfort was the Skverbai burial mound from the 3rd to 5th centuries, adding further depth to the region's historical significance. In 1968, the hillfort was investigated by archaeologists from the Scientific Methodological Council for the Protection of Cultural Monuments,
and in 1969, by the Institute of History. Valuable artifacts found at this site are preserved in the Kupiškis Ethnographic Museum and the National Museum of Lithuania.
In 1997, Stirniškiai Hillfort was included in the Register of Cultural Properties, declared a cultural monument in 1998, and recognized as a state-protected site in 2005.
