The Kuril Larch stands 11 meters tall, with a trunk circumference of 1.50 meters at a height of 1.3 meters. Unlike other conifers, larches shed all their needles each autumn and regrow fresh, soft needles in the spring. The Kuril Larch is distinctive
among its genus for its broad, one-sided crown.
