Historical maps confirm that the windmill was already standing in 1900. Stones from the banks of the Lėvuo River were used for its construction. Around 1915 or 1920, Juozas Vanagas purchased the windmill. It was used to produce flour for bread and livestock feed, grinding coarsely and sifting. Without rollers, wheat had to be taken to Schmitt's mill for finer processing. The number of customers increased significantly in the fall after the grain harvest. Queues would form at the windmill as people waited for the right wind to blow.
