In 1969, Adomas Petrauskas opened the doors of his barn to the first visitors, showcasing a self-prepared exhibition of ethnographic artifacts and archaeological finds. His passion for collecting antiques garnered support from the then-leaders of Antašava collective farm, Vytautas Notkus and Albinas Vaižmužis, which helped the museum expand. A self-taught village craftsman, Jonas Laužikas, constructed and erected a unique tower-building on the museum premises.

A self-taught village craftsman, Jonas Laužikas, constructed and erected a unique tower-building on the museum premises. Today, the Adomas Petrauskas Museum is a complex that includes a residential house, two barns, a tower, and a tool shed. In 1996, Petrauskas generously donated his life's work to
the Kupiskis District Municipality, establishing the museum in Uoginiai village as a branch of the Kupiskis Ethnographic Museum. The museum boasts a collection of over 7000 items, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region. In recognition of his contributions to preserving and presenting spiritual and material ethnic culture, Adomas Petrauskas was honored as an Honorary Citizen of Kupiskis in 2001. Visit the Adomas Petrauskas Museum to explore its extensive collection and experience the cultural history of Kupiskis. This unique museum is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in Lithuanian heritage and ethnography.
