Bridvaišis Hillfort is situated in the lands of the Samogitian tribes, on a hill on the northern shore of Lake Bridvaišis. The hillfort is surrounded by the lake from the south and by peatlands from other sides. The slopes of the hill are steep, 5-6 meters high. The site at the top is 60 meters long in an east-west direction and 26 meters wide. Legends tell that a Crusader castle stood on this hillfort as early as the 13th century, but archaeologists have found neither fortifications nor a cultural layer with artifacts. There is also a story about a kulgrinda – a road that connected the hillfort with the Great Island of Lake Bridvaišis via the lakebed.
