This site is marked by special plaques. At that time, the former agricultural administration building housed the NKVD office, the smaller adjacent building served as a detention facility, and the house across the road, where municipal apartments are now located, was used as a prison. The bodies of those who were brutally tortured were simply discarded in the square. Today, a lawn and a memorial stone inscribed with "To Those Who Died for Lithuania's Freedom" stand in that place.
