On June 14, 2003, the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Helper of Christians, was opened in Nida, marking the first and only Roman Catholic church in Neringa. The architects, locals Ričardas Krištapavičius and Algimantas Zaviša, designed this contemporary wooden place of worship in the center of the settlement, built on a decayed dune and harmonized with the unique landscape. The building reflects the ethical traditions of seaside architecture: the exterior is clad with impregnated dark oak planks, and one of its main highlights is the thatched roof. The white spire with a lacy cross above the glass tower is visible from all parts of Nida. Occasionally, the village's tranquility is pierced by the chimes of a one-and-a-half-ton bell ringing from the church roof.

Occasionally, the village's tranquility is pierced by the chimes of a one-and-a-half-ton bell ringing from the church roof. The church's interior
is spacious, with large windows, some of which are adorned with stained glass Stations of the Cross by Professor Algirdas Dovydėnas. Above the altar hangs a sculpture of the Crucified Christ, created by sculptor Stasys Kuzma. The spatial composition of the altar cross, tabernacle, and eternal flame lamp was designed and crafted by Klaipėda sculptor jeweler Vytautas Karčiauskas and his daughter, stained glass artist Laura Potet. Behind the marble baptismal font is a fresco painted by artist Antanas Chmieliauskas depicting the Baptism of Christ. The churchyard features an amphitheater that becomes part of the church when the windows and doors are opened, intended for cultural events in the open air. Under the church, semi-embedded in the sand dune, are the Nida community houses.
