Traveling on the road from Trakai towards Rūdiškės, you will find the Žukiškės Chapel, clearly visible in the shade of the forest past Žukiškės village. This chapel is an approximately 100-year-old "baublys," created in the early 20th century. It is considered the smaller sibling of the famous Dionizas Poška's "baubliai" located in Bijotai. The chapel is made from an oak tree, standing 2.2 meters high and 1.3 meters in diameter, with a niche carved into its trunk. The monument is covered by a low shingle roof topped with a wooden cross. The niche is protected by glass. Previously, it contained sculptures; now, it holds a holy image, candles, and artificial flowers brought by residents of Žukiškės

and nearby villages. This oak chapel beautifully represents the blend of paganism and Christianity. The oak tree has long been a sacred tree for Lithuanians. "Baubliai" were more common in Žemaitija and rarely seen in Eastern Lithuania, making this chapel one of the few remaining "baubliai" in this region. To preserve this rare and unique chapel, the Trakai District Municipality Administration received consent from the Trakai History Museum to safeguard this cultural heritage, along with permission from the Vilnius Department of Cultural Heritage for its relocation. A replica of the chapel was created by Mindaugas Šnipas, a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Association and a sculptor.
