Near the village and river of the same name, on the right bank of Lake Gilušis (also known as Lake Nepėra), stands the Strėva Hillfort. It can be reached from the Trakai-Prienai highway by crossing the Strėva River, turning right (north) into the forest, then turning right again after 50 meters and continuing along the forest path to its end. The hillfort dates back to the 1st millennium – the beginning of the 2nd millennium. It was in use from the 11th to the 15th century. Archaeological excavations have uncovered a cultural layer as well as coarse handmade pottery. These findings are kept at the National Museum of Lithuania.
To the south of the hillfort was an ancient settlement, and in the forest to the east are 23 burial mounds dating from the 9th to the 12th centuries. The burial mounds are well-preserved. Excavations have revealed iron artifacts such as sickles, stirrups, and bits.
