The history of Gargždai Manor dates back to the early 15th century when the manor became the property of the notable Samogitian elders, the Kęsgailos, and later passed into the hands of Baron Renė. Established in the early 19th century on the banks of the Minija River by the Renė family, the park today enchants with its history and natural beauty. The park area includes the western flat terrace and the impressive slope of the Minija riverbank, offering picturesque views of the Minija Valley. The park is intersected by a network of straight alleys complemented by winding paths leading to the river. Adjacent to the park, on the left bank of the Minija, stands a historic 13th-century hillfort, and within the park itself, one can find the cemetery of soldiers who died in World War II. This combination of two distinct parts gives the park its uniqueness and attracts visitors who wish to admire both the historical past and the stunning natural scenery.
