Veliuona Manor, an integral part of the town, is the direct heir of the defensive castle complex and maintained its functional purpose until the end of the 18th century. This is unlike the ensemble of residential castles along the Nemunas River in Raudondvaris, Raudonė, and Panemunė, which were often complemented by representative parks. The Veliuona Manor House was built between 1818-1820 by the Zaleski landowners. The manor house is a single-story building with features of Classicism, including a central mezzanine (salk) connected by a tall portico of four Doric columns topped with a triangular pediment. In front of the manor, there is an oval-shaped park with

various tree species. The park is especially famous for its tulip trees. Like many grand ducal estates, the ownership of Veliuona frequently changed at the discretion of the grand duke. Among the notable owners over several centuries was the famous Barbora Radvilaitė, to whom Sigismund Augustus gifted Veliuona among numerous other presents. Unfortunately, no gift could protect the beautiful queen from the severe illness that took her young life. The current owner of the manor is Olga Vakselytė-Švartz. Nowadays, curious tourists visit Veliuona Manor Park to admire the blooming tulip trees, the manor's architecture, or to attend town celebrations organized here.
