The parks and green spaces of Smalininkai cover an area of about 7.3 hectares, seamlessly connected by a green framework, which consists of trees growing along all the city's streets. The main streets of the city, Aukštagalių and Nemunas, were planted with trees in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These form two avenues: a linden avenue approximately 1.13 km long and an oak avenue 1.43 km long. Smalininkai Oak Avenue is the longest and oldest in Europe, featuring 187 oaks, each around 300 years old.
